JOB DESCRIPTION The Computer Network Technician at Rexarts Media will establish, operate, maintain, and support local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), cloud-based infrastructure, servers, hardware, software, and related computer systems. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable network performance, security, and connectivity across internal systems, production environments, and client-facing digital platforms. The technician will also support web servers, internal tools, and digital infrastructure critical to media production, marketing operations, and creative workflows.

JOB DUTIES The duties of the Network Support Technician at (COMPANY NAME) will include but are not limited to:
Computer and network operators • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), cloud networks, computer workstations, internet connections, and peripheral equipment. • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, networking equipment, operating systems, and software applications. • Monitor network performance, bandwidth usage, system availability, and server health to ensure optimal operation and uptime. • Set up, maintain, and support web servers, internal platforms, cloud services, and secure remote access solutions. • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for internal users in a timely manner. • Perform routine system startup, shutdown, maintenance procedures, and maintain technical documentation and control records. • Implement and manage data backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures. • Apply security measures including firewall configuration, access control, system updates, and vulnerability monitoring. • Conduct system testing, performance tuning, and quality control to ensure stability and reliability. • Perform basic scripting or automation tasks (e.g., shell scripting) to support system operations and efficiency. • Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and IT partners when required. • May assist in training staff on system usage and best practices and may supervise junior technical staff or contractors.
QUALIFICATIONS • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience such as, computer science, network administration, web technology or a related field is required. • 1 to 7 months of experience is required.
