Position Info:

Position: Early Childhood Educator
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $21.00~$24.00/hour (depending on experience)
Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
Number of Positions: 6
Work Location: 200-345 Latoria Boulevard, Colwood, BC V9C 4L8

Job Duties:

Establish and implement child-care programs which support and promote children’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development
Assess the abilities, interest, and needs of children
Discuss the progress or problems with parents and other staff
Plan and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, or taking children to local points of interest
Establish and keep the environment protecting children’s health, security, and well-being
Detect any signs of potential learning or behaviour problems of children, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
Guide and assist children developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
Build collaborative relationship with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Job requirements:

Education: College Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is required
Experience: Experience is an asset
Certificate: First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate, and E.C.E. Certificate
Language: English
