ABOUT THE VACANCY
We are currently seeking a skilled Network Support Technician with hands-on experience in supporting IT infrastructure within manufacturing and production environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in networks, systems, and security to ensure seamless operations across our chemical manufacturing, packaging, and distribution facilities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks, Internet connections, and workstations to ensure continuous operation of office and production systems.
• Configure and support computer hardware, operating systems, and networking software to meet business and manufacturing needs.
• Monitor and oversee system performance through consoles and diagnostic tools, coordinating network access and resolving issues promptly.
• Provide timely technical support and problem-solving assistance to staff, addressing connectivity and system access issues.
• Perform regular network start-up and shutdown procedures, update logs, and maintain accurate control records in line with IT standards.
• Carry out scheduled backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery tests to secure company and production data.
• Conduct security testing, apply quality controls, and implement monitoring tools to ensure safe and reliable network operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
• College diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, network administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in network support or IT systems administration.
• Certification or vendor training (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and process management skills.
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively and work both independently and in a team environment.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and work ethic.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
WORK CONDITIONS
• Permanent, full-time position
• $36.00 per hour for 30-35 hours of work week
