Job Description:
Millwork Project Consultant (Designer-Led Sales)
Coastal Accents Millwork | Victoria, BC (Estevan Village) Full-time | Showroom + site visits | Salary + performance (based on experience)
Coastal Accents Millwork is a Victoria-based cabinetry and millwork company specializing in refined, design-forward kitchens and built-ins. We serve homeowners, interior designers, and select builders who care about quality, clarity, and a well-managed experience.
We’re hiring a Millwork Project Consultant for a designer-led sales role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can connect with people, understand what they’re really trying to achieve, and translate that into a buildable, profitable millwork package.
This is not retail. This is not “send a quote and hope.” It’s consultative, relationship-driven, and detail heavy in the best way.
What you’ll do
You’ll own the front end of millwork projects from first contact to signed agreement, including:
Responding quickly to inquiries (walk-ins, calls, web, referrals) and booking the right next step
Running structured discovery with homeowners and designers (needs, space, function, style, budget, timeline)
Advising on cabinetry + millwork solutions: layouts, finishes, hardware, storage, and options that actually work
Creating clear scopes, specs, and proposal packages that production + install teams can rely on
Managing the quote process and closing work at set margins
Coordinating pre-production requirements: measurements, approvals, selections, sign-offs
Handling change requests professionally with clear, priced change orders
Keeping a clean pipeline so forecasting and capacity planning are real and not guesswork
Protecting designer and builder relationships (making them feel supported, not competed with)
Who this is for
You’ll fit here if you’re the kind of person who:
Is engaging and confident with clients, without being pushy
Has a real interest in cabinetry/millwork solutions (or strong adjacent experience, and you learn fast)
Experienced or understanding the importance of asking great questions and digging into constraints before promising anything
Can hold detail without getting lost in it, you finish what you start
Thinks in outcomes: “What will this look like installed? What are the risks? What’s missing?”
Has a growth mindset: curious, coachable, and hungry to improve their craft
What you must bring
Experience in one or more of: cabinetry, millwork, residential construction, interior design, kitchen sales, or architectural products (how experienced? 4 to 5 years?)
Comfort reading plans/elevations and thinking in dimensions and clearances
Strong written communication (you can write scopes and emails that prevent confusion)
A calm, organized approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines
Professional follow-through, clients and designers don’t have to chase you
Proficient in design software
Google Workspace experience
What we offer
A refined, values-driven company with high standards and low ego
Opportunity to be part of the growth of a steady pipeline and strong reputation
Support from estimating/production/install teams, so you’re not selling in a vacuum
Training and coaching to support your career growth opportunities. I wrote it this way to avoid promising this outcome while keeping it open to the role you may want at the time.
Compensation aligned with performance and professionalism (details shared in interview)
