Duties:
• Determine product needs for retail and wholesale operations, including podiatry, dental, surgical, and anesthesia instruments.
• Monitor inventory levels and establish purchase quantities to maintain adequate stock while meeting customer demand.
• Research market trends and review supplier catalogs to evaluate potential products.
• Select high-quality medical instruments that meet the company’s purchasing standards.
• Communicate and negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, credit terms, and promotional opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support long-term partnerships and ensure reliable product supply.
• Assist in managing product records, purchase documentation, and basic reporting of purchasing activities.
Requirements:
• Completion of high school is required
• At least 3 year of experience as a merchandise buyer or a similar role, preferably in retail or wholesale operations
• Proven record in product sourcing, price negotiation, supplier communication.
• Familiarity with medical instruments or healthcare-related products is an asset
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to establish and maintain long term supplier relationships
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple suppliers and product lines
