Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Physicist to join a community based oncology cancer center in Tyler, Texas. The center treats approximately 40 patients per day and operates highly active PSI and HDR programs, delivering more than 300 HDR treatments annually.
The Medical Physicist will work closely with a multidisciplinary radiation oncology team and support multiple nearby facilities within the regional network. Periodic travel to partner sites in Northeast Texas may be required based on staffing and operational needs.

Radiation Oncologist
Chief Medical Physicist
Two Site Medical Physicists (shared regionally)
Two Dosimetrists
Three Radiation Therapists
One CT Technologist
Key Responsibilities
Perform periodic evaluation of radiation therapy equipment for performance, safety, reliability, and lifecycle planning
Recommend equipment replacement, upgrades, or obsolescence planning
Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the quality management program
Support quality assurance for external beam radiotherapy and HDR treatments
Review and recommend updates to clinical and technical procedures followed by radiation therapy staff
Assist with management of radiation oncology information systems including protocols, maintenance, and data storage
Perform radiation safety duties including employee monitoring, compliance reporting, and regulatory support
Lead or participate in clinical projects focused on improving patient care and departmental efficiency
Required Qualifications
Completion of a CAMPEP Accredited Residency Program in Medical Physics
Valid Texas Medical Board License
American Board of Radiology certification or board eligible
Legal authorization to work in the United States (US Citizen or Green Card Holder only)
Preferred Experience
Minimum two years of experience as a certified medical physicist
Experience with Varian linear accelerators
Proficiency with Eclipse treatment planning system
Experience with Oncentra planning system
Experience with HDR planning and treatment
Working knowledge of SBRT and SRS procedures
Familiarity with ARIA ROIS and MOSAIQ ROIS
