Job Description:
Our Mechanical Team Leaders are critical to the success of our company. They keep our maintenance teams engaged and organized and support our operations teams in keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently.
We’re looking for a (one) Mechanical Team Leader to join our Tolko Industries Ltd, High Prairie OSB Division at 18022 AB-2, High Prairie, Alberta, Canada T0G 1E0. This mill is undergoing an exciting major rebuild and modernization and we’d love to have you join our team! You may also be expected to work at a secondary location, located at West Mitsue Industrial Rd, Slave Lake, AB, T0G 2A0.
In this role you will:
1. Apply organization and planning skills to schedule, coordinate, and direct mechanical resources.
2. Coordinate staff schedules, parts, materials, special tools and equipment.
3. Use your problem-solving skills and knowledge of root cause analysis to support your team in finding solutions to and efficiencies in maintenance and production matters.
4. Lead by example and provide feedback and support to ensure that your team completes proper documentation for work performed and adheres to work rules, policies and safety procedures.
5. Requisition materials and supplies and use your interpersonal and communication skills to build an engaged and efficient team.
6. Work across departments to resolve challenges and maximize the productivity of equipment, people and resources.
7. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions and ensure that training, coaching and mentoring is provided for your team.
8. Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of tradespeople, apprentices, contractors, and labourers.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
Certified Red Seal/Journeyman Millwright.Required Skills and Abilities (must haves):
· Experience leading teams in an industrial production environment.
· Experience scheduling, coordinating and directing mechanical resources including parts, materials, special tools and equipment.
· Proficient in daily maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting of the following equipment:
o Hydraulics
o Drives (motors with gearboxes)
o Conveyors
o Pumps
o Bearings
· Able to accurately read blueprints, plans and schematic drawings.
· Able to plan own work and follow work procedures and process.
· Able to work safely at heights and have strong rigging practices.
· Basic welding and pipefitting experience is beneficial.
· Able to coach and mentor apprentices.
· Able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
· Experience with Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is beneficial.
· Have previous experience working in an OSB mill including working experience with OSB machinery.

Other Requirements:
· Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
· Must provide acceptable employment references.
· Must be available to work 8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime. To support your team, you must be available for on-call duty.

· You will earn between $51.69 to $61.35 per hour (with potential for performance-based pay increases) plus a bi-weekly northern allowance of 10% of salary. This role is eligible for overtime and our gainshare program with earning potential up to an additional $3.00 per hour.
