Job Duties:
-Assist in conducting mechanical and process engineering studies to assess the feasibility, design, operation and performance of industrial systems such as boilers, steam and power generation, HVAC, pulp and paper processes and plywood mills.
-Support the planning and coordination of engineering assignments and projects, helping prepare material, cost and schedule estimates, technical reports and design specifications using LaTeX and MS Word.
-Assist in developing process designs and documentation for steam generation and power systems and chemical plants, including Process and Instrumentation Diagrams and Cause and Effect logic diagrams.
-Build and refine engineering models of mechanical and process systems using Python, MATLAB Simulink, Aspen HYSYS and AFT Fathom to analyze system behavior, energy efficiency and capacities.
-Conduct on site investigations, audits and as built reviews in industrial facilities to verify system configurations, collect data and identify potential performance issues.
-Participate in HAZOP and What If study workshops using PHA Pro 8, documenting hazards, recommendations and action items.
-Perform energy efficiency assessments and contribute to greenhouse gas reduction projects by preparing calculations, cost estimates and expected payback periods for proposed upgrades.
-Support the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical and control systems, including Emerson DeltaV based control systems, by providing technical input and field observations.
-Help develop and track maintenance standards, schedules and programs, and monitor project costs and budgets using Deltek Ajera in coordination with senior engineers.
-Assist in investigating mechanical and process failures or unexpected maintenance problems, performing data analysis and documenting root causes and recommended corrective actions.
-Contribute to the preparation and technical review of contract documents, design calculations and cost estimates for industrial construction and maintenance projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
-Regularly update the EGBC experience log with completed engineering work in preparation for future
