Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Machining Engineer to support the development of high-precision components and machining capabilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who can combine mechanical design expertise with hands-on machining experience. The ideal candidate will have specific experience machining ceramic materials, as this is a key requirement for the position.
You will contribute to the design and development of products and take a leading role in production and prototype tooling, fixturing, and finish machining.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop in-house machining capabilities and deliver high-quality precision parts.
* Design and machine production tooling, fixturing, and finished-part prototypes.
* Analyse customer part drawings for Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
* Review quality concerns from part inspections and develop solutions.
* Identify, recommend, procure, and install machine-shop equipment.
* Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
* Support machining cost optimisation and cost-reduction initiatives.
* Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and machining methods.
* Collaborate with external machine shops regarding capacity and scheduling.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
* 5+ years of mechanical design and machine-shop experience.
* Experience setting up and operating advanced machining equipment.
* Ceramic machining experience, including wire EDM, diamond grinding, and CNC milling.
* Experience operating CNC machines, conventional lathes, mills, and other precision equipment.
* CNC programming experience.
* Knowledge of GD&T and inspection procedures.
* Experience with CMMs and 3D imaging/metrology systems.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks, MasterCAM, or similar software.
* 5+ years of mechanical design and machine-shop experience.
* Experience setting up and operating advanced machining equipment.
