Meat Department Manager Job

Everfresh Processing Ltd. is looking for a Meat Department Manager to work with our team.

Title: Meat Department Manager – Food Store
Opening: 1 position (Permanent, Full-time)
Salary: CAD 45.00 – 47.00 per hour, At least 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4% of gross pay or 10 days of paid vacation

Requirements:

- A university degree or college diploma is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience within the wholesale or retail sectors.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in meat handling and preparation.

Main Duties:

- Direct and evaluate the daily functions of the department to ensure peak performance within the retail or wholesale environment.
- Supervise team members and coordinate task distribution to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Examine industry research and emerging trends to assess consumer needs, project sales targets, and mitigate competitive pressures.
- Supervise the high-volume breakdown of carcasses into primals and sub-primals
- Identify and collaborate with external suppliers to secure high-quality goods for resale.
- Construct annual budgets, approve departmental spending, and track revenue streams to maintain fiscal health.
- Assess service standards and resolve consumer inquiries or concerns to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Oversee workforce planning, including the recruitment, professional training, and long-term retention of employees.
