Job Description:
Assemble marine engines and related components
Coach and instruct apprentices
Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
Read manuals and drawings to determine work requirements
Repair or replace defective machinery parts
Supervise other workers
Estimate costs and materials
Perform routine maintenance work on boats
Installing machinery and equipment
Commission systems and components on boats
Provide technical and professional advice
Troubleshoot and repair various marine engines, transmissions and systems
Use electronic and computer diagnostic tools to troubleshoot

Requirements:
Education: Completion of secondary education is required.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field is required OR if the worker doesn’t have the required experience, a college degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Experience with marine systems is required.
Marine experience on both outboard and inboard outboard engines, marine electronics, and all boat systems including water, electrical systems, winterization and related equipment is required.
At least 3 years of experience and knowledge of Mercury motors is a strong asset.
Good general mechanically ability is an asset.
A valid driver’s license (type G) is required to move boats.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure, Hand-eye co-ordination, Manual dexterity.
Personal suitability: Excellent oral and written communication, Team player, Flexibility, Judgement, Reliability, Organized.
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Ability to supervise: 1-2 people.
Language: English is required.
Salary: $30.00 hourly, 40 Hours per week.

Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The work schedule will be from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work on weekends may be required depending on the business needs.
