Mapping Technician Job

Kodiak Trail Works is looking for a Full-Time Mapping Technician (NOC 22214)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 40-50 hours per week, $37.00/hour.
Job Description:
• Use GIS and GPS tools to flag trail corridors, map topography, and ensure alignment with design specifications.
• Ensure that our mountain bike and multi-use trail systems are built to the highest ecological standards, minimizing impact on local watersheds and sensitive habitats.
• Conduct pre-construction site assessments to identify sensitive flora, fauna, and watercourses.
• Design and implement erosion control measures and drainage systems (culverts, grade reversals) to manage water runoff based on local soil science.
• Execute high-level trail features, including rock armouring, retaining walls, and sustainable tread excavation using specialized hand and power tools.
• Ensure all field work aligns with Nova Scotia Environment (NSE) regulations, project-specific environmental permits, and other applicable regulations.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of a post-secondary college program in geomatics, cartography, photogrammetry, aerial survey, remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS) or related.
• Language in the workplace is English
