About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer with strong expertise in weld tooling design, validation, and manufacturing process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring 4–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in industrial engineering, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and proficiency with leading 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.
This position is onsite in Appleton, Wisconsin and offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, drive process optimization, and contribute to high-quality production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and validate weld tooling, templates, and components to ensure precision and efficiency.
Develop and maintain assembly process plans and workflows to improve throughput and reduce costs.
Design material handling equipment, racking systems, carts, and special-purpose tools for production and logistics.
Validate racks and carts based on load capacity and safety standards.
Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Change Notices (CNs), and Documents of Understanding (DOUs).
Lead Lean manufacturing implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support material flow standardization and optimize production layouts.
Collaborate with onsite managers and offshore teams during regular project review meetings.
Engage with vendors to meet project and tooling requirements.
Support quality inspection processes and develop quality-checking gauges.
Required Skills and Experience:
4–5 years of relevant industrial engineering experience (less than 4 years will not be considered).
Proven experience in weld tooling design and validation.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly planning.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA for 3D design.
Hands-on experience in Lean implementation, DFX principles, and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Attributes:
Strong mechanical aptitude with an eye for precision and quality.
Ability to work effectively with design, production, and vendor teams.
Self-driven professional who can work independently while managing multiple projects.
