Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Salary: $46.00 per hour, overtime rate after 44 hours per week
Hours of work per week: 30 to 35 hours per week
Location of work: 6688 Kitimat Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 1P8
Duties & Responsibilities: The role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
• Design and implement manufacturing work areas in line with Lean principles
• Create comprehensive manufacturing work standards, description of methods and instructions
• Drive improvements in efficiency, capacity, defect rates and material cost with internal teams and external partners and customers
• Collaborate with new product development engineers to determine manufacturing processes, tools and equipment
• Collaborate with engineering on implementing process automation or other advanced processes
• Implementation of Engineering Changes in manufacturing including managing work in progress, updating instructions and maintaining the ERP system BOMs
• Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementations for component or process issues
• Draft change requests for engineering including proposed mechanical changes to resolve issues or support cost reductions
• Draft deviation requests to document temporary changes to approved product specifications
• Investigate and propose alternate parts to resolve shortages
• Maintain equipment tracking and maintenance and calibration program
• Participate in Health and Safety activities and implement actions as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
• 1-2 years of Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a high-volume or advanced manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with ERP systems and BOM management
• Familiarity with process automation and production optimization
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Good English language skills
