Title of the position: Manager - Visual Effects (NOC 50011).

Job duties:

• Preparing and overseeing budgets and tracking income and expenses as part of running the business effectively and efficiently.
• Setting policies and procedures for the company.
• Hiring and managing staff.
• Creating hair/fur/feather grooms for characters and creatures using XGen and Houdini based on the required level of detail.
• Assisting in the whole creature workflow should clients require it: Modeling, Texturing, Lookdev, and CFX.
• Producing render tests of the groom as it progresses to the client.
• Providing technical XGen and Houdini support when issues arise.
• Regularly communicating with clients regarding schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards.
• Communicating creatively and technically with clients.
• Networking with potential clients to land new projects.
• Bidding for projects based on client requirements.

Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.

Wage: $40 per hour.

• Required education:

o University degree or college diploma in computer science or computer graphics.

• Required work experience:

o Minimum 2 years of experience in visual effects (VFX), animation, and/or advertising production.
o Experience working as a freelancer.
o Ability to deal with projects from multiple clients from different timezones at the same time.
o Previous experience with computer graphics (CG) creature and digi-double projects.
o Strong knowledge of XGen and Houdini.
o Strong knowledge of Shading Networks with hair and fur.
o Strong knowledge of the creature workflow: Modeling, Texturing, Lookdev, and CFX.
o High level of attention to detail.
o Able to create appealing characters.
