Manager, Communications Job

The Manager, Communications, is responsible for leading the messaging and channels that engage and communicate with our key stakeholders at schools. This role works with stakeholders on the School & Industry Engagement team and across the organization to deliver a unique calendar and consistent message (proactive or reactive) in our interactions with schools. This role focuses on:
- Developing strategic planning, core messaging, and positioning for the organization in relation to its communications with schools (done in partnership with internal stakeholders);
- Owning school channels (i.e., web/blog, email marketing/newsletters, social media);
- Generating, writing, and/or coordinating assets for distribution across school-facing channels;
- Actively managing and updating gmac.com to accurately reflect GMAC's evolution and best position GMAC in the marketplace; and
- Collaborating with Research Communications, Media Relations, and the product and regional teams to issue responses to market/global relevant conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Director, Research Analysis and Communications, on developing and managing school communications, to include messaging alignment, asset creation/coordination, and channel management.
- Ensure consistency and alignment across channels and GMAC teams: one voice, for all of GMAC school communications.
- Collaborate across the organization with the regional, product, and School & Industry Engagement teams on the calendar and content for school communication to ensure that we deliver the right information at the right time.
- Help internal stakeholders develop integrated campaigns targeting school audiences across web, email, and social media.
- Work with internal stakeholders to define GMAC's position and value proposition and bring it to life across the relevant channels (i.e., web/blog, email/newsletters, social media).
- Manage and update gmac.com content with attention to SEO best practices to ensure that our corporate site is a true reflection of our brand promise and capabilities.
- Manage, contribute to, and update GMAC Advisor Blog to share regular and relevant insights with school subscribers.
- Work with marketing operations to understand and cultivate engaged audience segments on HubSpot platform.
- Manage and grow social media reach (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter) to build and diversify channels for school engagement.
- Track and analyze web/blog, email/newsletter, and social media performance to inform future content strategy.
- Support the execution of market responses on local and global issues to ensure that GMAC has a pulse on industry needs and that there is a core and consistent positioning across our internal stakeholders.
- Support internal communications around GMAC positioning in relation to relevant higher education issues.
- Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.
