We are seeking a versatile and analytical Management Information System (MIS) Manager – Retail & Civil Construction to oversee, integrate, and modernize our enterprise technology infrastructure across dual operational domains: retail inventory/POS networks and multi-site civil construction operations.
In this strategic leadership role, you will bridge physical operational workflows with digital information systems. You will lead the administration of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, POS systems, construction project management databases (MS Project/Primavera P6), site-to-office communication links, and real-time business intelligence dashboards. Aligning with Canadian NOC 20012 standards, you will manage IT budgets, enforce corporate data governance, direct vendor relationships, and mentor cross-functional technical teams.
Key Responsibilities (NOC 20012 Aligned)
1. Retail MIS & Systems Infrastructure Management
? Plan, direct, and evaluate the daily operations of retail information networks, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and multi-store inventory tracking databases.
? Manage automated inventory control software, payment processing gateways, supply chain data ingestion, and vendor integration APIs.
? Monitor store uptime, network security endpoints, and automated stock re-ordering protocols across retail locations.
2. Construction Information Systems & ERP Administration
? Administer construction management information systems, project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera P6), and CAD resource databases.
? Deploy and maintain remote site network infrastructure, mobile telemetry logging, and site-to-headquarters communication pipelines for active civil engineering projects.
? Standardize digital project tracking databases for equipment utilization, material logistics, contractor hours, and safety/quality compliance logs.
3. Data Analytics, Governance & Executive Reporting
? Architect automated Business Intelligence (BI) pipelines and executive dashboards to track retail profitability, project cost variances, and operational margins.
? Enforce data integrity, encryption standards, disaster recovery protocols, and Canadian business privacy laws across all enterprise databases.
? Conduct regular system security audits, risk assessments, and error-logging reviews to eliminate data vulnerabilities and prevent system downtime.
4. IT Budgeting, Infrastructure & Vendor Management
? Control operational budgets (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) for enterprise software licenses, server hosting, site hardware, and IT service contracts.
? Negotiate and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with software licensors, hardware vendors, telecom providers, and systems integration partners.
? Oversee full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deployment for software upgrades, system integrations, and cloud migration projects.
5. People Leadership & Operational Compliance
? Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate systems analysts, database administrators, retail IT support technicians, and site communications personnel.
? Formulate and implement IT operational policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user access permission controls across departments.
? Deliver technical training to retail managers, site engineers, and project leaders on MIS tools and data security protocols.
Employment Requirements
? Education:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
? Formal training or certification in Project Management, Business Analytics, or Systems Administration is highly desirable.
? Experience:
? Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in managing enterprise information systems, database networks, or operational IT environments.
? 2+ years in a supervisory or management capacity directing technical teams, IT budgets, and vendor contracts.
? Direct experience or strong familiarity working within civil construction, retail POS, or supply chain environments.
? Technical & Domain Expertise:
? Proficiency in POS software administration, ERP platforms, and retail database management.
? Hands-on knowledge of construction project tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6) and site IT deployment.
