Position: Makeup Artist

Duration/Type: Full Time

Location: 15 Fandor Way, Unit-5A, Brampton, ON L7A 2G9

Salary: $34.50 per hour, plus gratuities. The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.

Vacation: 4% of the gross salary

Hours of Work: 30.0-40.0 Hours a week. Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week

Major Responsibilities:

• Engaging with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and skin types, and discussing the desired look.
• Applying makeup for various occasions such as weddings, festivals, parties, and photoshoots, using techniques that enhance the client's features.
• Assessing clients’ skin conditions and recommending appropriate skincare products and treatments, including facials and moisturizers.
• Staying informed about different makeup products, brands, and techniques, and recommending products to clients for personal use.
• Ensuring all tools, brushes, and makeup products are sanitized and maintained to meet health and safety standards.
• Keeping up with the latest makeup trends and techniques, and incorporating them into client services.
• Working with other salon staff, including hairstylists and estheticians, to provide a comprehensive beauty service.
• Providing excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

• Prior experience of 3+ months as a makeup artist in a salon, spa, or freelance capacity is required.
• A portfolio showcasing previous work, demonstrating versatility and skill in makeup application.
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a beauty school program that includes training in makeup application, skincare, and customer service is desired.
• Basic English communication skills required for effective verbal communication with the customers.
