Job Description:

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Painter, who is hard-working and trustworthy to join our crew of professionals. Please keep in mind, that this is a physically demanding position that requires body strength and resilience.
Job duties:
• Read specifications to determine the quantity and type of materials needed.
• Prepare and clean surfaces such as walls and ceilings using methods like scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper, loose paint, and repair cracks or holes.
• Mix paints and materials to achieve the desired colour and texture for proper application.
• Apply various coatings (e.g., paint, lacquer, varnish, enamel, or fire retardants) using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment for smooth finishes.
• Measure, cut, and install wallpaper or fabric to cover surfaces as needed.
• Assemble and erect scaffolding or swing stages to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
• Advise customers on appropriate colour schemes and wall coverings.
• Provide cost estimates to clients when requested.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while working within the facility.
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience in staining painting, acid coloring, and dyes
• Strong understanding of painting techniques
• Knowledge of using different methods and equipment for dyes, solvent and water based
• Team player, client-focused and adaptable to a variety of projects and environments
• Good knowledge of English
Compensation and Conditions:
• Permanent, full-time position with scheduled weekdays shifts and occasional weekend shifts
• $28.39 per hour, 35 hours per week
• Occasional overtime may be required with applicable overtime pay after 44 hours of work per week
• Work office: 3 Anderson Blvd., Uxbridge, ON, L9P 0G5. Please note that you may be asked to travel to project sites.
