Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist to join our dynamic head office located in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a critical role in ensuring the seamless operational functions of the factory, and overseeing efficient machinery and equipment use, including training new personnel for the use and operation of specialized machinery. The ideal candidate will also have a prior experience with handling heavy machinery and a familiarity with the technical aspects of heavy machinery and equipment.
Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
2. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
3. Set up and adjust production machinery and tools as necessary
4. Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
5. Document and report deviations from specifications as necessary
6. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
7. Compute dimensions and tolerances, and lay out work pieces
8. Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine told
9. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and ensure compliance to specifications
10. Training of new personnel for the use and operation of factory machinery
11. Raw Material Inventory Management
12. Approval of finished product for shipment
13. Finished Product Packaging
14. Verification of finished product torque according to each customer's standards
15. Preparation of finished product certificates for end customers
16. Performing preventive maintenance of machinery
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role working with heavy machinery and equipment
• High school degree required
• Familiarity with the technical, engineering aspects of machine tools is required
• Familiarity with machine assembly, operation, and maintenance of heavy machinery
• Prior employment in manufacturing plant requiring technical expertise an asset.
