Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate manual lathe, CNC machines, and a variety of machining tools to produce precision components. This role involves precision machining operations, adherence to engineering drawings and specifications, and supporting efficient production schedules.

We offer a full-time position with a wage of $40 per hour for working on a 40-hour-per-week schedule. Responsibilities
• Perform machining operations using manual lathes, and other machine tools as required
• Inspect materials prior to machining to ensure suitability
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Perform metric and imperial conversions and required mathematical calculations
• Machine parts to precise tolerances and perform in-process and final inspections
• Track material usage and minimize waste
• Work with a variety of materials including alloy steels and specialty materials.
• Maintain machines, remove chips, and ensure a clean working environment
• Handle materials using appropriate equipment (e.g., cranes)
• Collaborate with team members to support workflow and production efficiency
Accountability & Performance
• Ensure all machined parts meet required tolerances and quality standards
• Meet production timelines and work efficiently to support operational goals
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Safety & Compliance
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly

Job Requirements:
Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years of machining experience, preferably including manual lathe and/or CNC operations
• Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and industry courses considered an asset; Red Seal endorsement an advantage
• Secondary school diploma is required
• Strong understanding of machining principles and measurement tools
• Ability to safely lift materials and stand for extended periods
• Good communication and teamwork skills
Reporting Structure
• Reports directly to the Production Manager
Schedule & Compensation
• Hourly wage: $40/hour
• Standard shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Overtime may be required based on production demands and is compensated according to company policy

Work Environment
Physically demanding role requiring standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and repetitive tasks
Industrial shop environment with exposure to noise and machinery
