Machine Designer Job

Schedule：30-40 hours per week, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person, 20 Melford Dr #11-12, Scarborough, ON M1B 2X6
Start Date: As Soon as possible
Salary: CAD $60000/year - to be negotiated

• Always work safely and promote safe work habits.
• Thoroughly review and meticulously comply with detailed project specifications. Ensure that all designs, plans, and implementations align with these requirements to meet project goals and customer expectations
• Develop precise layout drawings for both quotation documents and customer installations. Ensure these designs adhere to operational and maintenance standards. Develop a project plan and manage deliverables.
• Generate custom 3D models of wrapping machine systems. Design and refine parts in 3D, and utilize 3D printing technology to create prototype parts, enabling thorough testing and iterative design improvements.
• Establishes and maintains a project schedule.
• Provide regular updates to the Project Team.
• Engage in the creation or modification of wrapping machine designs tailored to meet specific customer needs. Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other CAD software to produce detailed and accurate designs.
• Work closely with engineers and plant managers to verify, refine, and optimize designs.
• Create an accurate Bill of Materials used for project management and procurement.
• Contact suppliers for equipment and material selections and perform technical evaluation of options most suited to the individual system.
• Inspect incoming parts using a variety of testing methods to verify they meet the required drawing specifications. Design and implement jigs and fixtures that simplify the manufacturing process and improve product quality.
• Participate in design reviews and provide support during fabrication and assembly processes. Inspect the final product to ensure that it complies with all design specifications and quality standards.
• Create and update pit and guarding layout drawings for customer installations and ensure alignment with operational and maintenance standards.
• Prepare R and D reports.
• Customer Interaction: Respond promptly to emails and voice messages, attend customer meetings, and collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs.
• Provide first-line support for customer complaints and escalate issues as needed

Qualification:
• Has a Canadian Bachelor’s degree or above in the field of Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 1 year experience in designing wrapping machines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, and SolidWorks.
• Have experience with designing in the imperial system.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in 3D printing. Familiar with Printing in PLA, ABS, PETG, and PC. Experience with 3D printer maintenance and repair.
• Familiar with China's supply chains and have at least one year of experience looking for and communicating with suppliers.
• Experience communicating with machining, fabrication, bearing, belting, etc. companies.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Proactive and independent in solving complex issues, focusing on achieving results.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to work cohesively within a diverse team.
• Proficiency in the Chinese language is an asset.
