Low Voltage Technician Job

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems across a range of applications, including security, telecommunications, audio-visual, and building automation. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and customer-focused. This role involves working with a team on-site, interpreting blueprints, performing device configuration, and ensuring safety and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
System Installation – Install and configure low voltage systems including security cameras, access control, intercoms, A/V setups, and networking equipment.

Cabling & Termination – Handle the installation, termination, and testing of low voltage cabling in accordance with industry standards.

Device Configuration – Program and configure low voltage devices to meet system requirements and functionality.

System Testing & Troubleshooting – Conduct system diagnostics, resolve technical issues, and ensure optimal system performance.

Maintenance & Upgrades – Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and recommend system enhancements.

Documentation – Maintain detailed and accurate installation, service, and testing records.

Client Support – Communicate with clients, explain system functions, provide training, and address service requests.

Safety Compliance – Follow safety protocols and mentor junior staff on safe work practices.

Team Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, project managers, and technicians to deliver successful project outcomes.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Technical or vocational training in electronics or electrical engineering is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in low voltage systems installation and maintenance.

Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Network+, BICSI Installer, or similar industry certifications.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of low voltage systems, cable termination, and networking protocols.
