**Work Location:** On site and various locations; long-haul routes within Canada and cross-border routes between Canada and the United States
**Wage:** $38.40 per hour
**Hours:** 30 to 40 hours per week
**Terms of Employment:** Permanent, Full-time

**Schedule:** Early morning, evening, shift, flexible hours, morning, night, on-call, day and weekend shifts may be required.

Licences and Qualifications
* Valid Class 1 or equivalent commercial driver's licence suitable for operating long combination vehicles
* Air brake endorsement, where required
* Must be able to legally enter the United States to perform Canada–U.S. cross-border commercial driving duties
* Must be able to operate straight or articulated trucks safely
Job Duties
The Long Haul Truck Driver will be responsible for:
* Operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
* Driving long-haul routes within Canada and cross-border routes between Canada and the United States
* Planning or adjusting routes based on changing conditions using GPS, computer equipment or other navigation devices
* Planning routes to help minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
* Loading and unloading goods
* Performing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections
* Inspecting tires, lights, brakes and other vehicle equipment
* Overseeing the condition and safe operation of the vehicle
* Ensuring cargo is properly secured and transported safely
* Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch
* Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
* Maintaining required trip, delivery and vehicle inspection records
* Following applicable Canadian and United States transportation, highway and hours-of-service regulations while performing cross-border duties
