Job Title: Long haul truck driver
Maple Eagle Freight Systems Inc. is currently hiring a long haul truck driver for Permanent, full-time position to join the team as soon as possible.
Main Duties:
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Load and unload goods
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Perform brake adjustments
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations

Education: Completion of Secondary School is required
Experience: Heavy duty driving experience is an asset but not required. On the job training provided to anyone with a valid BC Class 1 License and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Salary: $29.00/hour for 60 hours per week

Job Location: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated, Straight truck (4,600kg or 10,000lbs with 3 axles), Tractor-trailer
Documentation Skills: Bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, trans-border documentation, maintenance and repair reports.
Communication Equipment: CB radio, Cellular phone, and GPS equipment.
Additional Information: Willing to travel all across Canada and the United States; willing to travel by day, evening and night, including travel on overnight routes; willing to travel for extended periods of time;
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
