Job Description:
Ace Canada Transport Ltd. is currently hiring a motivated and reliable long-haul truck driver to join our growing transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations in Canada and the United States while maintaining professionalism and compliance with transportation regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required
- Load and unload goods and ensure cargo is properly tarped and secured
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Monitor vehicle condition, including tires, brakes, lights, and other equipment
- Receive and relay information to dispatch
- Maintain accurate records of cargo information, fuel consumption, distance travelled, and hours of service
-Obtain permits and required documentation for international routes
- Transport and handle dangerous goods in accordance with safety regulations
- Perform minor roadside repairs in emergency situations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Secondary school graduation certificate
- 7 months to less than 1 year of related experience
- Valid Class 1/A Dricer's Licence with Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Experience operating GPS and navigation equipment
- Willingness to travel cross-border and for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Strong attention to safety, reliability, and time management
