Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety focused Long Haul Truck Driver to transport goods across Canada and/or the United States. The ideal candidate is experienced in long distance driving, committed to safety, and able to manage schedules, documentation, and customer interactions professionally.
Duties
• Operate and drive heavy trucks (tractor trailers) safely over long distances.
• Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods
• Perform pre trip, en route, and post trip inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as turning signals, brakes, lights, tires, and cold storage.
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travel, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with dispatchers, shippers, and receivers as required.
• Adhere to all applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and safety regulations when carrying hazardous loads.
Qualifications
• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• Valid Class 1 or AZ License is required.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks.
• Proven minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years’ experience in long distance truck driving
• Air brake endorsement (Z) is required for drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes.
Work Environment
• Long distance travel for extended periods.
• Physically demanding tasks include inspecting/maintaining vehicles and securing cargo.
• Exposure to varying weather and road conditions.
