Position: Long Haul Truck Driver
Key Responsibilities
• Operate tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods and materials across interprovincial and international routes within Canada and the United States, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of shipments.
• Plan and organize travel routes and schedules based on delivery instructions, traffic patterns, weather conditions, and border-crossing requirements to meet deadlines and optimize fuel efficiency.
• Perform comprehensive pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify the mechanical soundness of the truck and trailer, including brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels, and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Secure and handle cargo safely, ensuring proper loading, weight distribution, and use of restraints such as tarps, chains, and straps in compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, including driver logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports, maintenance and repair records, customs paperwork, and other required transport documents.
• Comply with all federal, provincial, and state traffic laws, transportation safety standards, and company policies, including those related to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, cargo security, and hazardous materials when applicable.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatchers, shippers, receivers, and customers to confirm delivery schedules, report delays, and coordinate logistics or special handling requirements.
• Monitor vehicle performance during trips, manage fuel consumption, and ensure safe operation under various weather and road conditions.
• Assist with loading and unloading activities when required and verify shipment accuracy against documentation.
• Represent G&F Transport Inc. professionally by maintaining a clean vehicle, respectful behavior, and courteous interaction with all clients and partners.

Job Requirements:
Valid Class 1/AZ driver’s license (or equivalent provincial/territorial license).
Minimum one year of verifiable truck driving experience.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check.
Knowledge of applicable transport regulations (Canadian and/or US DOT).
Ability to work independently and handle long hours on the road.
Physically fit to handle cargo when required.
