Job Description:
Main Job Duties:
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport material, goods, packages, etc. from one location to another within or outside the City and across international borders.
• Perform Pre-Trip and Post Trip Inspections such as tire pressure, Lights and Brakes, etc.
• Oversee all functions of vehicles, such as condition of equipment, loading and unloading and safety and security of cargo.
• Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in log book or in on-board computer.
• Receive and rely information to central Dispatcher.
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for the transporting dangerous goods.
• Secure the necessary permits and documentation required for transporting goods across international borders.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Other Requirements:
• Valid Class 1 license.
• Good driving record with a focus on safety.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Willingness to travel long distances as required.
• Must Have Canadian Passport or US Visa.
• Drive as team driver and solo for Canada US Run.
• Must have documentation knowledge
• 10-15 days on the road
