Job Description:
Galaxy Freightline Inc. located at 7270/7290 106 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2C 3B8, requires 5 Long-Haul Truck Drivers on a Permanent full-time basis.
· Wage: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
· Hours - 40 per week
· Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
· Credentials: Driver's License (Class 1 or equivalent)
· Experience: No Experience is required but Experience of at least 7 months is preferred. Suitable applicants without experience must go through a 90-day training program after being hired, and the driving test must be passed before commercial driving is permitted on the road
Job duties of Truck Driver
· Must be licensed and able to drive a tractor/trailer in a safe and proficient manner
· Responsible for inspecting the vehicle to ensure it is in proper operating condition, fueled and ready for dispatch
· Completion of required internal and compliance paperwork
· Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
· Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
· Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
· Use on board computers and communication devises to contact dispatcher and other drivers.
· Collect and verify delivery instructions
· Report accidents or violations in timely manner
· Any other relevant task
