Permanent Position: Long-Haul Truck Driver
Number of positions available – 20
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening.
Wage rate: $76,500 yearly, 35 - 40 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Business location: 31899 – King Road Abbotsford, BC, Canada, V2T 5Z2
Candidates are required to go to various Locations all over North America.
Education: Not Required.
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Experience: No experience required. Paid on job training will be provided.
Languages: Basic Knowledge of English
Type of Travel: Long-haul, Provincial/ territorial, International.
Documentation: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports.
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs.)
Job Duties:
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Perform pre-trip, on the way and post-trip review of vehicle.
• Note down cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Plan travel schedules and routes, use atlases and other trip planning aids.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatcher.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
Work Location Information: Various locations in North America.
Essential Skills: Document use, working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Finding information, Significant use of memory, Continuous learning
Other: Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
