Workplace information: On the road
Salary: 28.80 to 31.80 hourly (To be negotiated) / 30 to 44 hours per Week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment Full time
Employment terms: Night, On Call, Weekend
Start date: Starts as soon as possible

Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Will train
On the road: Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: AZ class license
Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer & Tractor-trailer B train
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment & Trip recorder (on-board computer)
Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul & Provincial/territorial
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test & Medical exam
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel cross-border & Willing to travel overnight
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail & Sitting
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety vest & Gloves

Tasks
• Load and unload goods
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
