VRG is hiring a Logistics Manager - Transportation to coordinate the transportation of horses for polo teams between Canada, the United States, and Argentina. The Logistics Manager oversees international transport arrangements and ensures the safe and timely movement of horses to competitions and training locations. Qualified candidates will have experience in transportation logistics and cross-border shipping, with knowledge of customs documentation, international transport procedures, and animal health requirements related to equine transport, as well as knowledge of equines to ensure safe, efficient transport. Experience coordinating complex shipments, working with carriers and veterinarians, and managing time-sensitive logistics, involving live cargo, is essential.
MAIN JOB DUTIES
Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit
Ensure transport compliance with regulations
Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods
Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods
Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue
Organize and maintain inventory
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
Monitor activities of logging companies and contractors
Oversee operational logistics of the organization
Establish operational procedures
Participate in contract negotiations
Animal Specialization: Horses
