Job Summary - Independent Contractor
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Teacher Student Area Coordinator to join our team as an independent contractor. In this vital role, you will serve as a bridge between students and educators, ensuring that each child's educational and emotional needs are met with care, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity. Your energetic approach will foster a supportive environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will coordinate educational activities, manage behavioral health concerns, and collaborate with families and community resources to promote child welfare and success.
Duties
Develop and implement individualized support plans for students, incorporating special education needs and behavioral health considerations
Coordinate communication between teachers, parents, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure student well-being and academic progress
Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, managing conflicts or behavioral issues with calmness and effective crisis management techniques
Facilitate culturally diverse counseling sessions to support students from varied backgrounds
Monitor student behavior and provide conflict management strategies to promote a positive learning environment
Assist in child protective services procedures by reporting concerns appropriately while maintaining confidentiality
Organize and participate in training related to child welfare, social work practices, and crisis intervention protocols
Support teachers in implementing behavioral health strategies and classroom accommodations for students with special education requirements
Maintain detailed records of student progress, incidents, interventions, and communication logs to ensure transparency and accountability
Experience
Proven experience working with children in educational or social service settings, ideally involving special education or behavioral health support
Knowledge of child protective services protocols, crisis intervention techniques, and crisis management strategies
Background in social work, child welfare, or related fields demonstrating an understanding of child development and cultural diversity counseling
Experience managing conflicts effectively within diverse populations of children and adolescents
Familiarity with teaching methodologies tailored for students with special needs or behavioral challenges
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, community agencies, and other professionals
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while demonstrating empathy and cultural awareness
