Job Duties:
• Participate-in and adhere to safe, environmentally sound work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment (Cat SIS and ET).
• Repair Caterpillar equipment in a safe and effective manner including: engine systems, electric and electrical systems, fuel systems, drive train systems, and brake and track suspension systems.
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure customer needs are met in a knowledgeable and professional manner through effective communication.
Skills Required:
• Safety conscious with a diverse knowledge of Caterpillar products and systems.
• Analytical with knowledge of mechanics in electrical and hydraulic systems
• Proven ability to complete repairs/service within established time guidelines in a busy, fast paced environment where priorities are constantly changing.
• Self-directed team player with strong initiative, business acumen and integrity.
• Focused, energetic, and organized with superior attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of competitors’ equipment would be an asset.
Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar Heavy Equipment
• Registration with the Skill Trades Ontario is a great asset
Education Required:
• High School Diploma or Trade Diploma or equivalent technical experience.
Wage & Hours: $ 40.47
• Number of hours per day: 8 - 12 hours per day
• Number of days per week: 3- 5 days per week
• Number of hours per week: 40 hours per week
• Overtime starts after how many hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift rotation (as applicable): M-F, M-Th, F-Sun
Shift premiums:
• Field service premium $1.39 per hour.
• Remote site premium from $2.00 - $7 per hour depending on location.
• Afternoon shift + $2.00 per hour.
• Night Shift: $2.50
• Full Weekend shift + $1.75 per hour
• Partial Weekend shift + $1.00 per hour
