Job Description:
Ekanayake Boyagoda, Barrister & Solicitor, located 6046 Castlegrove Court, Mississauga, ON, seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant.
Wage : CAD $34.25/hr, Full time and Permanent
Duties:
• Conduct legal research on cases and gather related legal information.
• Assist with drafting and proofreading legal documents, such as contracts, leases, deeds, affidavits and other legal documents.
• Assist lawyer with trial preparation by preparing binders and exhibits for court
• Organize and maintain case files and documents
• Monitor and manage deadlines related to ongoing cases and ensuring all necessary materials are in place for deadlines and court dates.
• Communicate with clients to schedule meetings and gather information
• Prepare and send correspondence including letters, emails, and legal notices
• Set up and maintain manual and computerized information filing systems
• Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and deposition
• Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls, taking detailed messages when necessary
• Determine and establish office procedures and routines
• Order office supplies and maintain inventory
