Salary- $25.00 per hour
Terms of employment- Permanent employment, Full time, 30 hours per week

Languages- English
Education- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience- 7 months to 1 year
Work setting- General law practice

Job Responsibilities
• Assisting in the preparation of immigration applications;
• Researching regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice;
• Managing and conducting client consultations along with lawyers and articling students;
• Researching case laws and statutory provisions relevant to immigration matters;
• Assisting in drafting submissions and legal documents;
• Determining and establishing office procedures and routines;
• Training interns and preparing their performance reports;
• Greeting clients and answering phone calls;
• Assisting lawyers and articling students in litigation matters;
• Setting up and maintaining filing systems, utilizing knowledge of legal records and procedures, and frequently controlling confidential materials and documents;
• Taking notes at conferences and client consultations;
• Assisting in the preparation and filing litigation documents for immigration courts and tribunals;
• Reviewing and proofreading documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage;
• Completing administrative forms and documents and assisting with billing and accounting tasks;
• Directing and coordinating law office activities and assisting with other tasks as needed;
• Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in paper or electronic filing systems; and
• Supervising and training other staff in procedures and in the use of current software;
• Open and forward incoming emails to the responsible team member.
