Leasing Agent – Multifamily (Apartment Community)
Job Summary
The Leasing Agent is responsible for leasing apartments, providing exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents, and supporting the overall occupancy and revenue goals of the community. This role plays a key part in creating a positive first impression and maintaining strong resident relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leasing & Sales
Greet and engage prospective residents, in person, online, and by phone
Conduct property tours and effectively present apartment features and community amenities
Convert leads into leases to achieve occupancy and revenue goals
Follow up with prospects and maintain an active leasing pipeline
Process rental applications and lease agreements accurately
2. Marketing & Lead Generation
Assist in implementing marketing and outreach strategies
Maintain and update online listings (ILS platforms, social media, website)
Monitor market trends and competitor pricing
Participate in community outreach and resident referral programs
3. Resident Relations
Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective residents
Respond to inquiries, concerns, and service requests in a timely manner
Assist with resident retention efforts and lease renewals
Help organize resident events and engagement activities
4. Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate leasing records and reports
Prepare and execute lease agreements and addenda
Collect deposits, rent payments, and related documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and Fair Housing regulations
5. Property Presentation
Ensure model units, show units, and common areas are clean and presentable
Report maintenance or curb appeal issues to appropriate teams
Maintain strong knowledge of unit availability and property features
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ year of customer service, sales, or leasing experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
Preferred
Previous multifamily leasing experience
Experience with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, AppFolio, etc.)
Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and leasing regulations
