Position Summary
The Lead Water Mitigation Technician is responsible for managing emergency response services, leading mitigation crews, performing water extraction and structural drying, documenting losses, communicating with customers, and ensuring projects meet SERVPRO and IICRC standards.
This role requires leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions in the field.
Responsibilities
• Respond to emergency water damage losses and other restoration emergencies
• Lead and supervise mitigation technicians on assigned projects
• Perform water extraction, demolition, and structural drying services
• Set up and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and specialty drying systems
• Conduct moisture mapping and daily moisture monitoring
• Complete detailed documentation, photos, sketches, and notes
• Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and management
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with IICRC standards and SERVPRO procedures
• Maintain inventory, equipment, and company vehicles
• Identify opportunities for additional services including contents, cleaning, and reconstruction
• Participate in the on-call emergency rotation schedule
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of water mitigation experience preferred
• IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification preferred
• Additional IICRC certifications a plus (ASD, AMRT, FSRT, etc.)
• Experience using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and drying equipment
• Ability to read and understand drying reports and job documentation
• Experience leading crews and managing job sites
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments
• Comfortable working after-hours, weekends, and emergency call-outs
