Lead Designer (Building Envelope Systems) Job

Summary: Work with designers and engineers to design and develop building aluminum & glass panel envelope systems utilizing in-depth understanding of each project from a large scale
through the smallest details, demonstrating proficiency in design documentation.

Day-to-day duties:
•Develop and produce building envelope system designs and other cladding formats for use in producing/developing complete sets of drawings utilizing advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit & other design tools and technologies and knowledge of glazing & curtain wall building construction methods, codes and detailing.
•Interpret system design requirements outlined by the project architect/engineer in the project contract documents.
•Analyze and implement input of clients, Engineering Manager, Engineers, PMs, Job Captains and other project stakeholders.
•Evaluate and identify potential problems and resolve design and production/product engineering issues.
•Lead designers and other design team staff; assign, review and check their work; and train/mentor/guide junior design staff.
•Collaborate with PM and Job Captains on assigned projects; ensure project milestones are met; and, design work meets company, project and client standards & specifications

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent as determined by qualified credential evaluator) in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related engineering/architectural discipline and 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupation designing curtain wall/building cladding.
