Main duties

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of workers maintaining lawns, gardens, athletic fields, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, indoor plant displays, and other landscaped areas.
• Submit proposals for landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts.
• Plan and estimate the materials and labor needed for specific contracts.
• Organize the planting and upkeep of trees, gardens, lawns, shrubs, and hedges, as well as the construction and installation of fences, decks, patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
• Establish work schedules and procedures, coordinating activities with other teams.
• Address work-related issues, prepare and submit progress and other reports.
• Request supplies and materials.
• Maintain financial and personnel records.
• Hire staff and train workers on job responsibilities and company policies.
• Perform the same tasks as the workers they supervise.
