Landscaping Supervisor (NOC 82031) Job

We are looking for a persistent, detail oriented, systematic, careful, and energetic person to join our team as a Landscaping Supervisor. The ideal candidate is a team player, leader, self-motivator and able to work well under pressure and take pride in their work. The candidate must be great at multitasking, with excellent interpersonal skills and oversee our Landscaping team’s activities.

• Position: Landscaping Supervisor
• Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent
• Location: Reporting to our main office located at 11374 128 Street, Surrey, BC, V3R 2W7
• Hours of Work: 30 hours/week
• Language: English
• Benefits: Disability Insurance and 15 days of vacation per year
• Salary: $28.85 / hour

Key duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers who maintain lawns, gardens, athletic fields, golf courses, cemeteries, parks, interior plantscapes and other landscaped areas according to each project.
• Plan and estimate the materials and labour requirements for individual contracts
• Organize the planting and maintenance of trees, gardens, lawns, shrubs and hedges and the construction and installation of fences, decks, patios, walkways and retaining walls
• Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities with other work units
• Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports to owner
• Requisition supplies and materials
• Maintain financial and personnel records
• Hire staff and train workers in job duties and company policies

Requirements/Education and other requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required
• At least 1 year of previous landscaping and landscaping supervisor experience is required
• Valid driver’s license is required
• Experience working with teams of 5 or more people is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills is a requirement, while the ability to communicate in languages other than English is an asset
• Quick learner and excellent multi-tasker
