Job Description

The Grounds Guys is seeking reliable, experienced, and hardworking Landscapers to join its team in Surrey, British Columbia. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position involving work at various locations. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a broad range of landscaping, planting, lawn care, grounds maintenance, and site assessment duties to support residential, commercial, and public outdoor spaces.

The Landscaper will play an important role in maintaining the health, appearance, and functionality of landscaped areas. This position requires practical landscaping knowledge, the ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, and the ability to carry out physically demanding tasks efficiently and safely. The successful candidate must be able to assess site conditions, support landscaping project execution, care for plants and lawns, and contribute to high-quality service standards.

Detailed Job Duties

The Landscaper will perform the following duties:

Manage and coordinate landscaping projects at assigned job sites.
Survey and assess designated sites to determine landscaping requirements, site conditions, and suitable treatment or planting plans.
Estimate labour, material, and project costs for landscaping work.
Prepare written specifications and work plans for landscaping activities.
Plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental, and related purposes.
Plant, transplant, move, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and gardens.
Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens to ensure healthy growth and an attractive appearance.
Water and tend to plants, lawns, and garden areas using appropriate care methods.
Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products safely and appropriately.
Assist in directing crews engaged in maintaining the health and appearance of landscaped grounds and surrounding areas.
Maintain the quality, appearance, and overall condition of outdoor landscaped spaces.
Perform physically demanding outdoor work in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
Work at various job sites depending on project requirements.
Follow workplace safety procedures and proper handling practices for tools, materials, and lawn care products.
Employment Requirements
Language: English
Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
