Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting testing, inspection, sample preparation, and documentation to support quality control and product development activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on testing skills, and the ability to follow strict procedures and safety protocols.
🛠 Key Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory tests, measurements, and analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Prepare, label, and maintain samples according to lab procedures and quality standards.
Operate and maintain lab equipment such as microscopes, balances, ovens, spectrometers, pH meters, pipettes, and testing instruments.
Document all test results accurately in logs, spreadsheets, or LIMS systems.
Assist in calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Follow SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements (ISO, GMP, GLP as applicable).
Report abnormalities, variances, or equipment issues to the Quality/Engineering team.
Support quality investigations and assist in root-cause analysis.
Maintain lab inventory including chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment (5S compliance).
📚 Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Mechanical, or related science/technical field.
Hands-on experience working in a lab or quality-testing environment.
Knowledge of lab equipment, testing procedures, and sample handling.
Ability to follow SOPs and safety guidelines accurately.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry, LIMS preferred).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
✨ Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience in manufacturing, pharma, food, chemical, or medical device labs.
Familiarity with GLP/GMP, ISO standards, or regulatory compliance.
Experience with analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, FTIR, etc.).
Knowledge of root-cause analysis and basic quality tools (5 Why, Fishbone).
👷 Work Environment
Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals or laboratory instruments.
PPE such as gloves, lab coats, goggles required.
Work may include standing for extended periods and handling fragile or hazardous materials.
