Lab Technician Job

Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

· Schedule projects within the lab
· Determine Lab materials to Purchase and communicates to Production Manager
· Determine Lab software upgrades to Purchase or upgrade with Production Manager
· Solicit request for quotes (RFQ)
· Prepare PPAP and Balloon prints
· Enter requisitions for management executive approval
· Review and disposition dimensional issues of received components based on history and past practice of quality engineers
· Assign work to other lab technicians or personal as provided by management
· Create/maintain reporting matrices and timelines for tracking and reporting purposes
· Generate lab reports for tools, gages and drawings to get approved PPAP status
· Advise equipment needed by comparing part with blueprints or sketches and devises procedures necessary to measure specified dimensions with Management
· Provide photographic or photo micrographic evidence on specific issues
· Develop and draw patterns and templates used to measure curves and angles. Test surface finish of machined parts
· Test hardness of materials
· Program and validate measurements using Vision or other electronic measurement equipment

This position requires a flexible schedule to support flex shift needs. There are also requirements for reports/layouts to be completed timely for PPAP or test parts where time is of the essence.. The technician is required to walk the floor as well as the rework areas to ensure that presses are running without any downtime.
Certified Lab Technician or Certified Mechanical Inspector by a Quality Certifying body is preferred.
