Primary Responsibilities:
REQUIRED SKILLSET:
•Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff in the preparation, portioning and service of food, ensuring consistent quality and presentation standards are maintained across all menu items.
•Schedule and coordinate kitchen staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage during lunch, dinner and weekend peak service periods.
•Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, including spices, lentils, dairy and specialty ingredients; prepare food order summaries and liaise with suppliers to maintain consistent product availability.
•Enforce food safety protocols, sanitation standards and temperature compliance in accordance with Ontario and Peel Region Public Health regulations, ensuring a safe environment for staff and guests.
•Participate in the selection and onboarding of kitchen staff; assist in the development and implementation of kitchen policies, procedures and operational standards.
•Supervise and coordinate the timing of food preparation across kitchen stations to ensure efficient and accurate order execution throughout service periods.
•Monitor and maintain inventory levels, implement waste reduction strategies and assist management in tracking food and labour costs.
•Maintain records of stock, repairs and other operational matters; report equipment issues and supply shortages to management to minimize disruption to kitchen operations.
•Support management in coordinating kitchen operations during special events and festive service periods to meet increased demand.
