Position Summary

The Kitchen Manager at MrMikes Steakhouse Casual is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating all kitchen operations to ensure exceptional food quality, efficient service, cost control, and compliance with company standards. The successful candidate will lead kitchen staff, maintain inventory and food costs, ensure health and safety compliance, and support the delivery of an outstanding guest experience consistent with the Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual brand.

Key Responsibilities
-Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
-Implement and maintain operational procedures, food quality standards, and kitchen productivity goals.
-Recruit, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate kitchen employees, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashing staff.
-Develop staff schedules and monitor employee performance to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient workflow.
-Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and consistency in accordance with company standards.
-Control inventory levels and oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and rotation of food products and kitchen supplies.
-Monitor food, labour, and operating costs and implement strategies to maximize profitability and reduce waste.
-Maintain accurate inventory, production, and waste records.
-Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, workplace health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
-Investigate and resolve kitchen-related operational issues and guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
-Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding food products, equipment, and kitchen supplies.
-Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities and coordinate maintenance and repair requirements.
-Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment focused on employee development and operational excellence.

Qualifications
- 6 months - 1 year of experience in food service operations, including supervisory or management experience. More experience is desirable.
-Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
-Thorough knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations.
-Experience with inventory control, food costing, labour management, and scheduling.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
-Proficiency with restaurant management systems and basic computer applications.
-Food Handler Certification
-Culinary training or hospitality management education is considered an asset.

Working Conditions
-Full-time position requiring evening, weekend, and holiday availability.
-Fast-paced kitchen environment with extended periods of standing, walking, lifting, and multitasking.
-Responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits
-Competitive salary based on experience. ($45,000-$50,000 per annum)
