Position Title: Kitchen Assistant Hospitality Lead
Location: The FARM Castalian Springs Tennessee
Hourly Pay: $15.00-17.00 per hour. Compensation is competitive and based on prior experience and qualifications. “We value growth and dedication—outstanding team members may be considered for raises following consistent exceptional performance."
Schedule: Part-Time/Full-Time: 11:30am - 7:30PM (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays) Saturday and Sunday 8-hour work shifts are also available to increase weekly hours to Full-Time status. Shifts May Vary.
Reports To: Dietitian Wellness Chef
Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Dietitian Wellness Chef, the Kitchen Assistant Hospitality Lead plays a key supporting role in the preparation, execution, and behind-the-scenes flow of nourishing, wellness-forward meals for up to 30 guests daily. This is a hands-on, high-performance position that requires speed, precision, resilience, and a deep appreciation for wellness-driven hospitality. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in dynamic environments, and brings consistency to the culinary rhythm of the retreat.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with daily meal prep, cooking, and plating in alignment with nutrition-conscious culinary standards
• Execute intermediate to high-level knife skills with precision, safety, and efficiency
• Apply healthy cooking techniques—such as steaming, roasting, and sautéing with minimal oil—to optimize nutrient density
• Accurately interpret recipes and collaborate with the chef on dietary substitutions and guest-specific accommodations
• Ensure daily compliance with food safety and sanitation protocols, maintaining a spotless kitchen and dish area
• Dishwashing and sanitation of all prep, cook and meal service, tools, utensils, surfaces, and food contact areas throughout the work shifts.
• Follow prep timelines and execute tasks within structured, demanding timeframes throughout the day
• Complete and maintain weekly inventory logs, participate in supply checks, and assist in placing timely food and kitchen supply orders
• Utilize inventory methods such as FIFO and LIFO for proper product rotation and storage integrity
• Performs other related tasks and functions as assigned by the Dietitian Wellness Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations and guest satisfaction
• Communicate stock concerns and participate in restocking and receiving of deliveries
• Function as a strong team player, while also working independently and taking initiative when needed
• Uphold the resort’s commitment to unreasonable hospitality by supporting a seamless and guest-focused mealtime environment
- This role requires someone who can take clear direction and isn’t afraid of being told what needs to get done.

• Must be in strong physical and mental health, with the ability to stand, lift, bend, and move for 8 hours per shift in a cool to warm kitchen environment
• Able to perform well under pressure, multitask, and meet rigorous prep and service deadlines
• High attention to detail, adaptability, and genuine respect for team communication and guest wellbeing
