Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will assist our estimator and project manager in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in estimation while gaining experience in construction.
Job Requirements:
This is a full-time position that may require some travel to job sites
This role involves working in a flexible office environment, with occasional field visits for gathering information and conducting site assessments
In this role, the Junior Estimator will be responsible for supporting the estimating team by preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects
This includes analyzing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents, gathering data on material, labor, and subcontractor costs, and assisting in the preparation of bid proposals
The Junior Estimator will develop cost models, maintain cost databases, and assist in the analysis of project risks
Cost Estimating Support: Assist senior estimators in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for various infrastructure projects, including airport, DOT, commercial, or industrial developments
Takeoffs and Quantity Surveying: Perform takeoffs from construction drawings and project specifications to determine quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for a project
Bid Preparation Assistance: Help prepare bid packages, including the breakdown of costs for labor, materials, and equipment, as well as any other relevant costs
Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Assist in obtaining quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate project costs
Documentation and Reporting: Assist in compiling reports on project costs, including variances from estimates, and help track ongoing costs throughout the lifecycle of the project
Risk Analysis: Contribute to the identification of project risks, potential delays, or cost overruns and suggest mitigation strategies
Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are understood and accurately costed.
