Junior Attorney Job

Draft pleadings, motions, responses and replies to motions, discovery requests and responses, affidavits, and other legal documents for various civil litigation matters. Ensure that all legal documents accurately reflect research findings, support the legal arguments, and comply with relevant legal standards and requirements. File legal documents online using “Efile GA,” an online platform for filing and serving documents in Georgia courts. Perform comprehensive and thorough legal research on a wide range of civil litigation matters, including Georgia case law, statutes, regulations, legal precedents, and relevant legal commentary. Utilize various legal research tools and databases (primarily Lexis Nexis, Westlaw and FindLaw) to locate relevant information and identify applicable laws and regulations such as the applicable statute of limitations for common causes of actions. Prepare legal memoranda, summaries, and reports to communicate research results and contribute to discussions of case facts, legal issues and potential risks or liabilities. Review contracts, agreements, policies and other legal documents provided by corporate clients to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in Georgia or other states. Use the USPTO website to extract corporate clients’ trademark information, monitor trademark deadlines and respond to office actions.

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school (or foreign equivalent), plus at least six (6) months’ experience in litigation; experience could be gained during the course of studies. Must also have experience in transactional law. Experience using LexisNexis and Westlaw is also required. Must be admitted to practice law in the state Georgia. 10% domestic travel required.
